Reliability Engineer

Job Summary :
Formulate, implement and oversee reliability improvement programs for the refinery.

Essential Job Functions:
* Carry out systematic monitoring, reliability & performance analysis and root cause failure analysis. Provides troubleshooting and engineering support and plant equipment failure investigations to improve maintenance programs and enhance plant reliability and performance.
* Coordinates/develop and implement reliability and performance management programmers including scorecards to identify “poor performers”. Prepare reliability and performance monitoring check lists using most appropriate techniques available.
* Reviews and discusses reliability engineering work progress, performance and related issues with technicians. Monitor and ensures systematic and consistent implementation of work methods and procedures used in reliability management and engineering and recommends improvements.
* Receives, investigates and resolves complaints related to performance or reliability of mechanical equipment and machineries. Evaluates various reliability engineering technologies, identifies opportunities for improved performance and recommends changes/upgrades to maximize reliability.
* Identifies and recommends requirements for specialized contractor work for reliability related functions/services.
* Participate in feasibility studies and provide input for engineering and project management services for minor projects including the planning, execution and supervision of the works.
* Monitor the quality and performance of the reliability and performance management system against the KPI’s and ensures continuous improvement of the refinery’s equipment reliability.
* Takes part in ensuring the safe return of equipments to service.
* Provide start-up assistance to Production staff where necessary.
* Develops reliability standards in performance and repair work methods on rotating equipments in alliance with other experts in the refinery.

Competency Required for Performance:
* Engineering Degree in Mechanical or Chemical
* At least 10 years experience in the oil & gas industry in similar positions.
* Understanding of equipment common to a refining environment
* Proficient in the use of MS-Office suite
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
